Kitchenpeer is an app where users can “share” kitchen appliances, such as a kitchenaid or a fryer, with peers for a small amount of money, creating a platform where users can have access to all kitchen appliances.
The design of the app is focused on Dutch millennials, because they are increasingly participating in a shared economy and are willing to share possessions. The app is part of a shared economy, as not every kitchen appliance needs to be owned, but can also be borrowed from other people.
Green and pink are used as the main colours. Pink creates a harmonious atmosphere in the application and stands for love and friendship which is in line with the ‘sharing with peers’ aspect of the app. Green represents the earth and nature which is a good connection to sharing possessions in a shared economy.
